ABOUT US

We are a team of ten students from the INP-ENSEEIHT located in Toulouse, France. We worked on a project suggested by the CNES.

The main objective of this project is to creat a system that is abme to film a satellite for commercial and insurance purposes.

So we developped a mechanical arm that supports a camera.

We have already presented the first prototype and now we are working on the second one.

DIFFERENT DOMAINS

Data tranfer

To tranfer the data that  is collected we use Raspberry Pi cards. We program an algorithm to enable the camera to take picture and send them back to us.

Mechanical arm

The ideal solution for the mechanical arm were two parallel convex measuring tapes. We chose this solution because using these materials and configuration, the arm is the lightest without impacting performance.

A 24V motor powers the system.

Camera

The camera we use is a Raspberry Pi Camera v2 and has the following specs:

- focal length : 3.04 mm

- HFOV : 62.2 °

- DFOV : 48.8 °

- f-number : 2.0
